What Is OCEV?

According to California Bill No. 1271 (SEC.2312.5(d)), certain vehicles are specifically excluded from being classified as electric bikes under this code. These vehicles are categorized as Out of Class Electric Vehicles (OCEVs) for the following reasons:

  1. Highspeed Potential: Vehicles with two or three wheels that are designed by the manufacturer to be modifiable for speeds greater than 20 miles per hour on motor power alone or exceeding 750 watts of power.
  2. Post Sale Modifications: Any vehicle that has been modified to attain speeds greater than 20 miles per hour on motor power alone or to exceed 750 watts of power.

These exclusions ensure that only properly classified e-bikes can be markets as such, maintaining safety standards and regulatory compliance. Riders of OCEV's should be aware of the different legal requirements and responsibilities associated with these vehicles.

Additionally, OCEVs are designed to offer performance and features beyond what traditional e-bikes can provide. Always verify the intended use and ensure you are compliant with local and state regulations when operating an OCEV.

Introducing The Method 750 — where raw BMX heritage meets electrified muscle. Designed by Crew Bike Co, this 29” big wheel e-BMX delivers a perfect blend of street style, performance, and power for riders who demand more from every ride.

At its core is a 750W rear hub motor pushing out 85N·m of torque, capable of reaching speeds up to 35 MPH in OCEV mode. A 48V 14.5Ah lithium-ion battery powers your ride with up to 35 miles of range via pedal assist, and the 4-mode controller (Eco, Sport, Race, Offroad) adapts to your flow—whether you're ripping pavement, cruising the boardwalk, or hitting that next takeover.

Built around a durable 6061 alloy frame and a chromoly BMX fork, The Method 750 stays true to its BMX roots. Outfitted with Crew MK-4 4-piece chromoly bars, a 175mm chromoly crankset, and ultra-grippy 29” x 3.0” Crew Takeover tires, this ride doesn’t just perform—it dominates.

Hydraulic disc brakes with oversized rotors (180mm front / 160mm rear) provide all the stopping power you need, while the included full-knurled steel pegs and padded BMX saddle round out this street-ready machine.

All bikes purchased through Crew Bike Co. MUST be assembled
by a certified bike shop mechanic. If the bike is NOT built by a certified bike
shop mechanic, any warranty will be VOID. We will request for an assembly
receipt as proof of professional installation.

So that we can help you in a timely manner, make sure to include the following:

is still under the manufacturer’s warranty time limit)

• Failure to provide regular

Crew method 750

I have had this bike for about 3 weeks now and I love it, I can get 20 miles out of a full charge only using throttle, it wheelies super nice, I had to upgrade the brake pads and rotors, make sure nothing was rubbing, the tires are great for not getting flats, and a top speed of 31 mph. The only con is that it is smart to keep the key on you, sometimes the bike will turn off because of a safety feature due to cold weather etc, you will need the key to turn back on.

Strong motor, solid brakes

The power is there when you need it and the hydraulic brakes feel confident. Would've liked slightly more range, but overall very happy.
